How To Make A Stencil Without A Fancy Machine

How To Make A Stencil Without A Fancy Machine

How To Make A Stencil Without A Fancy Machine

Instead of buying an expensive & overly hyped-up fancy machine, I figured out how to make a stencil using supplies in my DIY stash. I thrifted this really cool piece of art from the ReStore for only $4.00! The only problem is that this thrift store art blended in a little too well with the guest bathroom’s walls.

how to make a stencil to update thrift store art

My solution was to add a custom stencil with a cheeky phrase for a bright pop of color. The metallic silvers & textures of the canvas really caught my eye & I wanted as much of the original canvas to show through as possible. I decided to use a “reverse painting technique” from my previous DIY pop art projects with letter stencils.

  • You can see the painting technique I used in my DIY pop art here, here & here.

HOW TO MAKE A CUSTOM STENCIL – TUTORIAL

STEP ONE

  • I used a pre-loaded Microsoft font, AR Christy in the size 310, in landscape mode to create my large letter stencils.
  • If you want to use a custom paid font, The Hungry JPeg has beautiful fonts.
  • Download your free Bonus Guide to learn how to download & use a paid font.

how to make a font stencil using microsoft word

TIP:

  • If you want your letter stencils to be bigger, break the word into more than 1 document  {like I did with “beaches!”}

STEP TWO

Print your phrase, quote or saying onto sticker paper

TIPS:

  • With most printers, the sticker side should be face down before loading into your printer.
  • I highly recommend using HP Instant Ink. It has saved us so much money!

create letter stencils with sticker paper

STEP THREE

Carefully cut out the letters with an x-acto knife. In less than a half hour, I cut out of the the letters.

STEP FIVE

Stick the sticker paper to your canvas & start painting.

TIPS:

  • If you don’t like the layout, the sticker paper peels off the canvas with ease.
  • It’s more difficult to peel off & re-position if the sticker paper overlaps each other.

canvas art ideas

After 4 coats of paint & allowing it to dry overnight, I removed the sticker paper to reveal clean & crisp painted letters.

Creating this custom stencil with sticker paper was the perfect way to give this canvas a pop of color. This thrifted art canvas now looks so good hanging in our guest bathroom.

STEP SIX – OPTIONAL

The frame of this canvas art was beat-up & looked shabby. I primed it 1 coat of this primer & 10 coats of this silver metallic spray paint. Yes, it took 10 coats… because I have no patience…

spray paint primer

I was too impatient to wait for warmer weather to spray paint, so I had some crackling issues to fix.

Thrift Store Frame Makeover: Before & After

TIPS:

  • Using sawhorses makes painting items like this so much easier.
  • If your spray paint crackles, leave it alone to dry overnight.
  • Lightly sand the troubled areas with an ultra-fine sand paper.
  • Wipe the area with a tack cloth to remove the sanding dust & continue spray painting as normal.

I love when I try a new DIY project & it turns out even better than I imagined. Thankfully I did a  preliminary test & figured out how to prevent the paint from bleeding. I hesitated to test the sticker stencils out first, but if I hadn’t, the really cool art canvas would have been fucked up.

15 Frugal Tips To Save Money & the Planet

15 Frugal Tips To Save Money & the Planet

15 Frugal Tips To Save Money & the Planet

Here at H&S, we share frugal tips to save money with creative solutions & DIY projects. Although DIY projects do save money, they require a time commitment. You can use these 15 frugal tips to save money & the environment in no time at all! It’s a win-win.

We admit… this is a HUGE article. To make the info easier to digest, we broke it down into 4 easy categories: saving money with clutter & trash; smart shopping “hacks”; saving money by repurposing & easy swaps you can make to save you money.

In addition to these 15 frugal money-saving tips, we’ve also included a few special referral links that give you an added savings.

15 ideas to go green and save money

2 FRUGAL TIPS TO SAVE MONEY WITH CLUTTER & TRASH

DONATIONS

Not to be a judgmental tree-hugger, but I despise people that toss perfectly good items in the trash. It’s a shame these items end up in the landfill, when they could have been used by someone else.

IF we were that type of asshole, we would have contributed 567 items to the landfill in 2017. But we did the environmentally {& financially!} responsible thing… we donated 564 items to Goodwill & 3 items to Habitat for Humanity Restore.

frugal tips to save money with donating

Instead of clogging up the landfills, we receive a tax deduction receipt that we benefit from at tax time.

RECYCLING

Yes, this is a frugal tip to save money. Back in the day, we used to be those assholes that didn’t recycle… if I could go back in time, I’d throw a hard-back book at our faces. Fast forward to today, & we literally have ZERO excuses NOT to recycle. {Especially when recycling is included in our expensive HOA fees.} There are loads of things that you can recycle though, for example you can now even recycle electronics with a company like Premier Surplus, so really we have no excuses anymore.

recycling quote

This is cringe-worthy, but before we recycled, we generated a ton of trash & were always buying trash bags! Like. All. The. Time! News Flash: trash bags are NOT cheap & cheap trash bags are worthless.

How does this save money? Recycling centers discourage using trash bags, because something ugly happens. We use a vinyl reusable grocery bag that we keep under our sink cabinet & dump it when it’s full in the recycle bin outside.

3 FRUGAL TIPS TO SAVE MONEY BY CHANGING YOUR SHOPPING HABITS

THRIVE MARKET MEMBERSHIP

frugal tips to save money on healthy groceries

Aside from saving consumers hundreds of dollars in groceries, Thrive Market also saves the environment with their eco-friendly policies. They minimize their carbon footprint by NOT shipping “one-off-orders.” Their free-shipping offers with orders over $49.00 actually help to encourage consumers to purchase bulk orders.

Pro Tips:

  • Use this referral link to save even more money.
  • Maximize your savings with Thrive, by timing your bulk orders around their free GWP {gift with purchase} offers OR around their 10%, 15% or 20% off entire order promotions.

BYOB {BRING YOUR OWN BAGS}

Yes, bringing your own reusable bags can actually save you money! Trader Joe’s & Whole Foods gives you a discount for each bag that you bring.

I have a confession about BYOB… they give me major fucking anxiety if I’m walking into a store with branded bags from another store. Why? Because stupid people make me lose my shit. My pet peeve is “Captain Obvious”… you know those people that state the obvious because they’re not intelligent enough to discuss original ideas. BUT… I love saving the environment, so I deal…

SAMPLES OVER FULL-SIZE ITEMS

If you want to try new makeup, paint, etc., try a sample first! I recently wanted to try organic foundation from Crunchi & Nu Evolution. I didn’t want to spend $50 on either of them to find out I ordered the wrong shade, hated the scent or that my skin type didn’t react well.

I ordered samples, tried them, loved them & bought the full-size. IF I would have bought the full-size versions first to determine that I hated them, it would have only added to the unnecessary items headed to the landfill. {Because buying &/or selling used cosmetics is beyond gross.}

4 FRUGAL TIPS TO SAVE MONEY BY REPURPOSING

THINK “INSIDE” THE BOX

Organizational storage bins & boxes are typically overpriced & can be difficult to find in a specific size. Think “inside the box” to repurpose boxes you already have! It saves money, headaches & the environment! We’ve repurposed boxes into free organizers in almost every room in our home.

THINK “INSIDE” THE BAG

We do not use reusable grocery bags for raw meat, so we end up collecting plastic & brown paper bags. If you’ve read our article on the free items you need when painting, you’ll know just how helpful repurposing plastic & brown paper bags can be!

frugal money tips with ideas of items to repurpose

By re-using the plastic bags as “paint brush preservers” in-between coats, we save a ton of money on paint brushes. The plastic bag also saves a crusty paint brush from the landfill.

REPURPOSE BATH LINENS

Instead of tossing out worn washcloths, repurpose them into “makeup removers.” Instead of tossing used & worn towels, donate them to your local animal shelter!

Animal shelters can always use towels! Before donating your towels, confirm that the shelter can give you a donation receipt for tax purposes.

CREATE A RUNNING LIST

Keep a running list of items you want & need. This is the BEST way to be aware of what you need & to plan out your purchases. If it’s written down, it’s easier to think of items you already own that you can repurpose or upcycle. Having your purchases you want to make written down also helps you to spend consciously.

My Real-Life Example: Instead of buying a wood scoop for our bath salts, I repurposed a vintage tea cup. Never underestimate how the little things can add up to big savings.

6 FRUGAL TIPS TO SAVE MONEY WITH SWAPS

DOLLAR SHAVE CLUB

Razors are incredibly expensive, especially if you have sensitive skin! I used to buy those expensive disposable razors, because they were cheaper than purchasing cartridge refills!… I “saved” money, but this “little habit” was so bad for the planet.

In 3 years, I ‘ve saved 624 disposable razors from going to the landfill! My monthly DSC subscription costs less than those expensive disposable razors I used to buy all the time.

P.S. – DSC customer service is beyond fantastic & their razors are kind to my sensitive skin.

PRO TIPS:

  • Use our referral link to save money!
  • Buy an extra razor handle & an extra refill cartridge to keep in your travel toiletry bag.

CHANGE YOUR DETERGENT

Before transforming into non-toxic & tree-hugging organic weirdos, we used to use toxic liquid laundry detergent.

We were ALWAYS buying detergent. It wasn’t great for our wallet & the toxins in the detergent weren’t great for the environment either.

frugal money tips to save with laundry products

Click me to read a review of Molly’s.

We tried Molly’s & fell in love. This simple swap has saved us a lot of money, because you only need 1 Tablespoon per load. As a bonus, this natural swap doesn’t pollute the water.

ECO-FRIENDLY COFFEE

I cringe now, but we used to make coffee with “K Machines.” After reading about the mold issues & the city in Germany that banned them, we kicked ours to the curb {aka we sold it.}

{P.S. Germany is woke AF when it comes to recycling – their sanitary workers will dump your trash all over your lawn if they see recycles in it.}

Our “old-fashioned” coffee maker is free from mold issues, saves us money from buying expensive coffee pods & the environment wins from less waste.

Pro Tip: The best value for organic coffee.

GET “COCO” WITH IT

Coconut oil has a million uses. My favorite is to use it to remove eye makeup. Eye makeup remover is hella-expensive & doesn’t last long, which adds unnecessary waste to the landfill.

I purchased a 14 oz. jar of coconut oil 4 years ago to keep in my bathroom to use as an all-natural eye makeup remover & I’m still using that same jar today! To make it easier to use, I scoop coconut oil from the large jar into a small glass jar.

BOTTLES TO BARS

Whether you buy the toxic or non-toxic versions of body wash, they are expensive & the packaging creates a ton of waste.

We tried Kiss My Face soap bars, & surprisingly fell in love. Surprised because we had been avid body wash lovers. If you want to save money & the planet, we highly recommend these soap bars.

PRO TIP:

  • KMF bars are super cheap at Thrive Market. {Use our referral link to save even more money!}

PRINTER INK

Printer ink is so damn expensive! I soooo wish we would have joined HP Instant Ink a lot sooner than last year, because we lost out on a lot of savings.

With every ink cartridge they send, you also get a pre-paid poly mailer to return old cartridge to their recycling program. Use our referral link to enjoy 1 FREE month of HP Instant Ink!

11 Easy Tips To Make Your Clothes Last Longer

11 Easy Tips To Make Your Clothes Last Longer

11 Easy Tips To Make Your Clothes Last Longer

Celebrate Earth Day with these 11 easy tips to make your clothes last longer & to keep unnecessary textiles out of the landfills. Making your clothes last longer is also the best way to get the biggest bang for your buck. Discover which clothing items to hang-dry, how to get rid of clothing pills & fuzz, how to avoid makeup smudges on clothes; ideas to repurpose your clothes & why you should switch to natural laundry products.

What you’ll need to make your clothes last longer:

practical and easy tips to make your clothes last longer

TIP #1 – HOW TO PROTECT CLOTHES WITH EMBELLISHMENTS

Protect your embellished clothing by hanging it up to dry. Anything with rhinestones, sequins, studs or unique buttons should never be placed in the dryer.

The high heat from the dryer & a load of wet clothes can easily damage the unique & delicate features on your clothing.

**This is the only time that I use plastic non-slip hangers, because velvet hangers aren’t meant for wet clothing.

clothing you should hang dry

TIP #2 – MAKE YOUR UNDERWEAR LAST LONGER

Let’s get personal & chat about underwear. I wash them as normal, but I hang them to dry. I’ve done this for years & have definitely noticed a huge difference.

Hanging them up to dry keeps the elastic band from getting stretched out. It’s also a great tip for underwear with delicate details.

TIP #3 – HOW TO MAKE YOUR BRAS LAST LONGER

Don’t have patience to hand-wash your bras? Same. My laundry room doesn’t have a sink, so it’s not convenient for me to hand-wash them.

I toss my bras into a bra cage before tossing them into the washer. This prevents bras from getting tangled around clothes or digging the bra hooks into other clothing.  Bras are another clothing item that should be hung to dry.

TIP #4 – HOW TO PREVENT MAKEUP SMUDGES

Don’t want to get makeup smudges on your clothes? Try this easy solution.

Place a shower cap over your face, as if it were a Halloween mask. Yes, you’ll look silly for 2.5 seconds, but your clothing won’t have makeup smudges.

TIP #5 – HOW-TO DE-FUZZ & DE-PILL YOUR CLOTHING

Invest in a fabric shaver! Not only is this a powerful tip to keep your clothes lasting longer, it’s also really gratifying.

Fabric shavers are so powerful at preventing your clothes from looking ragged & worn. With little effort, you can easily de-pill your clothing.

de-pill clothes

When this 5-year old, $5.00 thrift store dress started pilling, my fabric shaver made it look as good as new.

BONUS: If I ever get tired of this dress, I can repurpose the fabric into a unique color-block pillow. Here’s a great tutorial for how to repurpose clothing into pillows.

TIP #6 – DON’T WASH YOUR CLOTHES WITH TOXIC DETERGENT

Don’t destroy your clothes by using toxic laundry products. Conventional {aka toxic} laundry detergents contain harsh chemicals that are abrasive to clothing.

Show your clothes some love & swap your chemicals for natural alternatives. Your clothes will thank you.

TIP #7 – REMOVE STAINS WITHOUT HARSH CHEMICALS

I use & love this stain & odor remover, because it’s as effective as its “toxic counterpart.”

Stain Removal Tips

♦ The sooner you can treat the stains, the better the outcome.

♦ Wash in cold water. If you wash it in hot water, the hot water will “set” the stain deep into the fibers.

♦  If the stain is still present, either re-treat & wash OR hang to dry, until you’re ready to wash another load of clothes again.

TIP #8 – NEVER USE ESSENTIAL OILS IN THE WASHER OR DRYER

This tip is going to piss off a lot of know-it-all-mommy-bloggers & MLM scammy sellers, but you need to know this!

  • Do NOT use essential oils in a homemade laundry detergent recipe;
  • Do NOT place drops directly into your washing machine;
  • & definitely do NOT place essential oil drops onto dryer balls.

Trust me, I tried all of the methods above, & with every method I tried, oil-stained clothing was the result.

TIP #9 – PROTECT YOUR CLOTHES WHEN COOKING

Coconut oil can be pretty damn difficult to lift from clothing. Don’t forget to wear your aprons when you’re cooking & baking!

super hero kitchen aprons

We don’t take ourselves too seriously, so we have super hero kitchen aprons. Marriage goals, huh? 🙂

TIP #10 – HOW TO REPURPOSE, UPCYCLE & REUSE YOUR CLOTHES

Repurposing your clothes & finding another use for them is the best way to make them last longer.

  • Super soft t-shirts that no I longer like to wear outside of the house become PJ sleep shirts.
  • Clothes that still fit but are worn/stained become DIY project clothes. I organize my DIY project clothes in a large fabric storage bin.

ideas to repurpose your clothes

TIP #11 – WHY YOU SHOULD REMOVE THE DRY CLEANING BAG

If you absolutely, positively have to take clothing to the dry cleaner’s, remove the plastic bag as soon as you get home. Storing clothing with the plastic bag is likely to cause the clothing to yellow.

The low-down on organic dry cleaners…

  • By the way, if you’re curious, Organic Dry Cleaning doesn’t really mean anything & it would be appropriate to call most of them “green-washers.” Just as with cosmetics, there isn’t any standard a company has to meet in order to use the terms “green” “all-natural” or “organic.”
    • Just do your research on organic dry cleaners. You shouldn’t pay a premium price for a service that isn’t actually organic.
  • Green Alternatives to Dry-Cleaning
BENEFITS TO MAKING YOUR CLOTHES LAST LONGER

These 11 easy tips to make your clothes last longer really help prolong the life of your clothes. It’s a win-win. You save money keeping your clothes looking newer longer. The environment also wins because your keeping less textiles from clogging up landfills.

7 Thrift Shopping Secrets To Master From A ReStore Shopper

7 Thrift Shopping Secrets To Master From A ReStore Shopper

Save money & make money shopping second-hand furniture with these 7 thrift shopping secrets. Want to know our best-kept-secret for buying used furniture? 4 words… Habitat for Humanity ReStores. Mind blown? Discover these thrift shopping tips, tricks, hacks & secrets to find the best thrifted furniture.

UPDATE: {9/26/18} – check out our newly posted Youtube Vlog — shopping at a few Habitat for Humanity stores

Our favorite thrifted furniture from ReStores is our vintage desk that we transformed into a media center; a vintage mirror that we gave a bold makeover & our newest favorite is a piece of art that we’re planning to update.

thrift shopping secrets for habitat for humanity restores

#1. DON’T JUDGE ALL RESTORES BY JUST 1 STORE

This is the most important thrift shopping secrets to master if you’re shopping at ReStores. We’ve been to 7 of the ReStores in our area & each one is uniquely different from the other. ReStores are like snow flakes, no two are the same.

How do the stores differ from one another?

Some stores offer sales based on the color of the price tag, while other stores do not offer sales.

thrift shopping secrets at the restore

Same but different – while all of the inventory of ReStores are directly related to the donations each store receives, no two ReStores will have the same exact donations.

habitat for humanity restore thrifty shopping secrets

Each store has their own “system” for pricing items. In the same day, we found 2 antique ice boxes at 2 different ReStores priced differently. While one store priced theirs for $50.00, the ice box at the other store was $60.00.

#2. MAKE A TRIGGER DECISION

If you see something you absolutely love, don’t hesitate to purchase it on the spot. This can be the most difficult of the thrift shopping secrets to master if you’re naturally indecisive {like me!}… so drag along a thrift shopping buddy!

Ask an associate to temporarily “store” the piece near the counter, so you can purchase it after perusing the entire store.

the hardest of the thrift shopping secrets to master

Habitat for Humanity ReStores have a high turnover of inventory, so what’s there today, may be gone tomorrow. For the majority of the ReStores in the NoVa area, their turnover is so high that the entire store may look different in just a few weeks time. So don’t dilly-dally, make a trigger decision & claim your second-hand furniture!

#3. ASK QUESTIONS

This seems like a no-brainer, but if you see something you love without a price tag, ask an associate! OR… if you’re an introvert like me, make your husband ask. 🙂 Haha! When my eye caught this uniquely-shaped mirror without a tag, I persuaded my hubby to ask for the price.

habitat restore vintage mirror

I would add a caveat here: The ReStores are a fantastic organization that provide the capital {money} to further their affordable housing mission for those in need, so please think twice before price-haggling & don’t be an asshole.

cabinets and small nightstands at restores

#4. INVESTIGATE THE INTERIOR

You never know what’s in the inside of furniture pieces, until you investigate. Open up the doors, lids, drawers & cabinets to fully inspect before purchasing. For some vintage furniture pieces, it’s hard to judge what the interior looks like by the looks of the exterior.

inspect vintage furniture

#5. LOOK FOR “FURNITURE TATTOOS”

You can call them Maker’s Marks, but I much prefer the term “Furniture Tattoos.” The furniture tattoos are likely to be either inside of a drawer, on the back or the bottom of furniture, or on the inside lid of a hope chest.

search for a makers mark or a furniture tattoo

If I’m interested in a piece of furniture, I buy it regardless if it has a furniture tattoo or not.

What are furniture tattoos good for?

This is the easiest & most interesting of the thrift shopping secrets! You can determine when it was manufactured, where it originated from, how old it is & even the materials used in the production of the piece!

#6. HAVE A MENTAL LIST OF THE UNIQUE FEATURES YOU WANT YOUR FURNITURE TO HAVE

Habitat for Humanity ReStores are usually bursting at the seams with inventory. Instead of getting overwhelmed with the huge selection, know exactly what unique features you’d love your furniture to possess.

awesome vintage marble and claw foot furniture

Here are a few features to spark your mental list: claw feet; marble; unique hardware; Mid-Century Modern; Bombé; Waterfall; Burl Wood; Industrial, etc.

Mini History & Rant about Bombé

  • In this context, Bombé refers to a style of furniture that originated in 17th Century France.
  • In America, this style of furniture also goes by the spelling “Bombay.” {Although the spelling differs, the pronunciation remains the same.}
  • I prefer to use the French spelling, Bombé … as “Bombay” refers to a mass-produced furniture company with shitty quality. Why would anyone pay thousands for a piece of furniture that’s made of particle board?

MCM waterfall and lion head hardware

#7. BE IN THE KNOW

Do a quick Google or Facebook search or ask a ReStore associate if their ReStore has a Facebook page that they update regularly. Most in our area do not, but a few do! Aside from volunteering at the store, following your local ReStore on Facebook is the best way to know about the new cool stuff hitting the sales floor.

Bright & Cheery Thrift Store Mirror Makeover

Bright & Cheery Thrift Store Mirror Makeover

Bright & Cheery Thrift Store Makeover

Who the hell can say “no” to a thrift store find? At a bargain price of $5.00, I was dreaming of DIY plans for a bold thrift store mirror makeover.

I just have this thing with mirrors. Yes, Habitat for Humanity ReStores are a great place to source thrift store home decor.

PAINT PREP BEFORE THRIFT STORE MIRROR MAKEOVER

The ideal paint prep would be to remove the frame from the mirror. But… just like a few other mirror makeovers we’ve conquered, this mirror frame was glued to the mirror.

When obstacles present themselves; adapt & overcome.

If you can’t remove the frame, computer paper & painter’s tape works wonders. Shimmy the computer paper between the mirror & the frame & secure the paper from sliding around with tape.

how to paint a mirror when the frame is glued on

FIX THE IMPERFECTIONS WITH WOOD FILLER

Wood filler is a staple in our DIY stash. You buy it once & you can use it over & over & over again.

The sides of our thrifted mirror had deep gouges & the bottom of the frame looked like a cat used it as a scratching post.

No bueno … but no problem, it’s a quick & easy fix.

how to fix a wood mirror frame

WOOD FILLER TIPS:

  1. Not planning on painting after using wood filler?
    • Match the shade of the wood filler to your project, as closely as possible.
  2. Painting after using wood filler?
    • You don’t have to match the wood filler to your project.
    • We’ve used “non-matching” wood filler with this vintage desk & vintage radio makeover {to name a few} & have never had any problems with the finished product
      • {e.g. – there’s not a visible demarcation where we used “non-matching” wood filler.}
  3. Repurposed stoneware scrapers work very well to help apply wood filler into nooks & crannies.
  4. Apply thin layers until you reach your desired build-up.
  5. Lightly sand each layer once it has dried.

BOLD CHALK PAINT THRIFT STORE MIRROR MAKEOVER

What better time to try out a new brand of chalk paint than with a small-scale project? I could have used paint from our DIY stash, but…

chalk painted thrift store mirror makeover

We wanted to go BOLD, BRIGHT & CHEERY for this thrift store mirror makeover. I chose Victorian Vintage brand of chalk paint {from this eBay store} in the color English Yellow.

thrift store mirror makeover with chalk paint

MIRROR PAINTING TIPS:

  1. Saw horses are a freaking life saver & made painting this thrift store mirror a hell of a lot easier.
  2. Don’t judge the paint by the first coat {or the second coat with chalk paint.} The first coat always look shitty, no matter what.
  3. In-between paint coats, turn the paint up-side down, so you don’t have to waste time re-stirring it.
  4. Store your foam brushes in a sealed snack bag, to prevent them from drying out.

BRIGHT & CHEERY MIRROR ON THE WALL, WHO HAS THE BEST THRIFT STORE MIRROR MAKEOVER OF THEM ALL?

4 coats of English Yellow chalk paint & $12.75 later, I reached my desired aesthetic for my thrift store mirror makeover.

In a perfect world, we would have painted the “underside” of the frame that’s visible in the mirror’s reflection. But…

bright and cheery thrift store mirror makeover

Shit doesn’t always shake out the way you planned. No big deal, because from afar, you wouldn’t be any wiser to the imperfection.

To protect the newly painted thrift store mirror, we applied 2 thin coats of this wax top coat

Our eclectic living room is the perfect home for this bright & cheery thrift store mirror makeover. It complements our gorgeous blackout bold blue & white medallion curtains & our Asian-motif mirror… a thrift store makeover from ages ago.

THRIFT STORE HOME DECOR TIPS:
  1. Don’t forget to check out your local Habitat for Humanity ReStores when you’re on the hunt for thrift store home decor.
  2. Challenge yourself to go outside your “decor comfort zone” & go bold with a “small-scale” piece of home decor.

Until the next thrifty makeover,
