The Must-Read Book To Kick-Start Organization        (A Spark Joy Book Review)

If your New Year’s Resolution is to get your shit together, you need this book to kick-start organization. This book has truly changed my life & my home. Totally cliché, but totally true. Thankfully I received this book in my PopSugar box; otherwise, it’s something I wouldn’t have bought on my own. (Things that you’d never buy on your own, usually turn out to be some of your favorite items.)

the must read book to kick-start organization

Being late to the bandwagon on reading this book & hearing the negative reviews, I unfairly “judged a book by its cover.” I initially scoffed at reading this because I hadn’t read its predecessor; I’m NOT a minimalist; & I was already successful with purging & organization… or so I thought.

HOW THIS BOOK CAN KICK-START ORGANIZATION

If you can relate to any of the following, you need to add Spark Joy to your Amazon cart right now…

  • Have an excessive amount of “stuff”;
  • Want a kick-start organization;
  • Struggle with purging sentimental items, or purging in general;
  • Need help formulating questions to yourself to help purge items;
  • Need reassurance that you don’t need to spend money to get organized;
  • Would love your closet to resemble a boutique;
  • Banish the mental clutter that comes along with physical clutter;
  • Create extra space in your closets & linen closets, just by folding;
  • Want to SPARK JOY throughout your home!

YOU NEED AN OPEN-MIND TO KICK-START ORGANIZATION

The author is an extreme minimalist & purges items, even if those items would be needed again in the future. After reading that she purged all of her screwdrivers, only to re-purchase another one, months later. WTF! Who does that?!

I almost quit reading…

 After a quick vent session to my husband, he reminded me to pick & choose the advice to implement to kick-start organization… because I always do things my own way. After all, doors don’t open with a closed-mind.

Spark Joy book review

THE KICK-START WE NEEDED

Wow! This book is crazy inspirational & motivational! This book can help you get your shit together & create a joyful home. It gave us the kick-start we didn’t know we needed, to elevate our purging & organizational game! We treated the “methods” from this book just like a recipe, we modified it to suit our own preferences. Don’t be afraid to create your own path to organizational success!

We conquered our game plan of purging, organizing & re-folding, room-by-room. We followed the Marie Kondo “origami” folding method, modifying it when necessary. The extra space that resulted just from re-folding items was astounding.

Spark Joy gave us the kick-start to purge an excess stuff; created joyful, uniform & aesthetically-pleasing closets; created extra space with new folding techniques; & elevated our organization game!

Did I mention we followed her advice for free organizers?…

Our zero dollar organizers we created, just to name a few…
